|Mission||Our goal at Atitlan Organics is to encourage a new type of small-scale agriculture that is centered on diversified edible landscapes, open-pollinated seeds, perennial crops, and traditional breed animals, as well as farm-produced fertility, compost teas, and homeopathic preparations.|
Atitlan Organics maintains a very diverse plant nursery and open-pollinated seed collection that is used to disseminate useful indigenous and exotic species throughout the highlands of western Guatemala.
We also offer training and education on various aspects of sustainable and organic, small-scale agriculture, via on farm courses and consulting services.
Finally, we are set-up to host mid and long term volunteers that want to come and work on our farmstead and learn about the new, exciting changes in agriculture and small-scale farmsteading.
Organic salad and cooking greens, goat's milk and goat's cheese, live fermented ginger beer, healthy farm fresh eggs, and more!
Market Days and Tour Schedule:
Thursdays: San Marcos La Laguna- 10AM to 12PM at the Escuela Caracol.
Saturdays: Santa Cruz La Laguna- 10AM to 12 PM at the market in La Iguana Perdida, which is located in front of the public dock in Santa Cruz.
Tours: Weekly tours are offered on Friday mornings, starting at 10AM. Come have some coffee or herbal tea and experience the beauty of our valley and farm. Please arrive early and it is always best to call or write before you come. Tours are Q50 per person.
