|Über uns||Child Heart Down Syndrome Institute is a social enterprise for Down Syndrome children and adult to develop their full potentials through provision of programs & services. We want members of Down Syndrome communities connected, united and grounded.|
We envisions in which people with Down Syndrome are fully realize their full potential, free from any form of violence, responsible, respected and cherished, connected and grounded with families and communities that bring wholeness in the society.
We aim to address that every person with Down Syndrome’s rights not to be subjected to harm. Our purpose is to enable the people with Down Syndrome to integrate successfully into home, school, and community life, and employment in the future. Through partnership with various stakeholders, individuals, service providers, and supporting families is somehow creates in achieving their full potential. Thus, we are committed in our goals to:
1.) Provide programs and services to people with Down Syndrome in every way possible to enable them to reach their full potentials.
2.) Give support to families of Down Syndrome individuals by rendering relevant information, educational and professional services to improve the quality of their lives.
3.) Strengthen public awareness by developing and disseminating relevant information regarding the DS Situations in the communities.
4.) Collaborate and partner with other interested groups both in the national and international levels.
|Beschreibung||The Childheart is a resource institute dedicated to enhancing the lives of persons with Down Syndrome through programs and services addressing physical, mental, psycho-social, emotional, and therapeutic needs of people with Down Syndrome. It is designed to function in the over all strategic planning, implementing and program priorities that work within the framework on the rights-based and life cycle approach for people with Down Syndrome. Children with disabilities are at high risk for abuse and neglect and are more likely to experience maltreatment than children without disabilities.|

PROGRAMS & SERVICES
1. Childheart Learning
The Childheart Learning will serve as a venue for recreation, skills development and learning opportunities that will enhance the full potential of persons with Down Syndrome. Through customized learning activities, the individuals will be taught to do more challenging but not so difficult tasks, depending on their interests and evolving capacity to learn and perform.
2. Childheart Health
The Childheart Health provides regular health check-up with Down Syndrome which includes referrals and clinical laboratory procedures. This service will cater the proper nutrition through Positive Deviant Food Intervention (PDFI) as well as massage and physical tune up to enhance physical development of children and adult with Down Syndrome. Home Visiting Service
The regular activity is to encourage positive parent-child relationships, promote optimal child health and development, enhance parental self-sufficiency, and prevent child abuse and neglect. They focus on the importance of the role of parents during early years of development of children with Down Syndrome.
By bringing services to families with young children with Down Syndrome, rather than expecting them to seek assistance in their communities, home visitors see the environments in which families live, gain a better understanding of families' needs, and tailor services to meet those needs. Home visiting can reduce loneliness and isolation and serve as the first step in linking families to communities.
Parents to Parents Support Service
This service will cater to the needs of newborn babies who have been diagnosed with Down Syndrome in order that they will be given proper care and treatment during the delicate stage. New parents will be acquainted with necessary information on how to rear a Down syndrome child and how to deal with the crisis itself.
