Donegal Youth Service is a Countywide Youth organisation supporting over 5000 young people and 500 adult volunteers.
Our projects include, The Youth Outreach Project, the ‘Daybreak’
Early School Leavers Project, the Letterkenny Youth Information Centre, The LOFT Youth Health Café project and BreakOut LBGT Youth Project
We manage a county wide Community Employment Scheme which
supports our work through various projects and clubs. Through these
projects we have other projects that develop for example Leargas funded
European Voluntary Scheme, Youth Democracy Project and Youth Exchanges.
Teen Talk is one to one support project for young people experiencing difficultly and in need of support.
We also have one off projects that engage young people in cross border, cross community and youth democracy work, for example IFI Activ8 project, Cross Border Connections Peace III youth project.
“Donegal Youth Service aims to offer young people in Donegal
opportunities to develop
holistically through informal education processes in a safe
and equitable environment.”
Donegal Youth Service is the key youth work agency in Donegal and works to deliver generic and explicit youth work programmes and activities that best meet the needs of young people and the adults who support them.
Donegal Youth Service is an energetic and contemporary youth organisation constantly striving to meet the needs of the ever changing youth population.
We are a unique service in that we are locally managed and can respond quickly to local need.
