Das KaffeeHaus von Frau Burkhart - German Village and Big Room Bar are proud to present another round of Sidestage; a monthly alternative electronic dance night with an emphasis on lower frequencies, shifting tempos, and music with equal parts groove and weight, featuring a mix of Columbus DJ's, regional producers, beatboxers, etc.
This time, we're celebrating one whole year of Sidestage! Last year on April 15th, we combined dreams, elbow grease, and electricity to begin hosting DIY monthly dance parties as a way of celebrating local dance music and fostering a positive community of vibrating bodies outside of the mainstage EDM norms. One year later, and we're still at it, weirder than ever, and excited to celebrate the oddities of life with you all.

Shaman [Future Bass/Ghettofunk/Bass House]: First of our resident DJ's at Sidestage, Shaman is an Ohio bred producer/DJ with a long background in blues and jazz performance, whose mission is to bring the funk back to the modern stage and add a little extra whump. With diverse collabs and recordings with artists ranging from Priscilla Renea to Flybear to Ape Drums, there's bound to be something to please every ear.
Kimono Dog [Dubstep/Bass Music]: A resident DJ at Sidestage, Kimono Dog is a Columbus, OH based DJ/producer who's eclectic and experimental mixing style draws influence from a diverse range of artists and genres within the realm of heavy bass music and beyond.
SLAVE [Bass Music/Trap/Dubstep]: Atlanta native David Timko had a natural ability to create music since early childhood and was raised on classical piano. He left home at the age of 17 and fell in love with dance music culture in Pittsburgh’s rave scene where he stayed for several years. Inspired by DJ’s he met there, he learned to spin records and everything clicked. In 2011, he began to teach himself production and quickly gained a regional spotlight during the uprise of American dubstep. During the following years, his work was featured on major outlets such as EDM.com, Dubstep.net, and High Chai Records, while he grew his own local event culture in Ohio as Rapture Entertainment.
Today, David is picking up the pace. In 2017, his music was supported and played nationally by Bassnectar, and he has recent releases featured on Pantheon and Headbang Society with more names on the way. In January of 2018, his team launched their imprint branch, Rapture Studios, with a broad showcase of top bass music producers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Montreal, and beyond. With a slew of new content on the way and a whole team behind him, 2018 is going to be a massive year for SLAVE.
The name SLAVE represents our network of friends made family through our shared struggle to exist within the confines of a society that fosters division while suppressing free thought and acceptance.
