Uncover the rich history of Georgetown's African-American communities with Dwane Starlin, member of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides. Starting in Herring Hill, learn about the eighteenth-century community to both enslaved and freed blacks. Continue exploring Georgetown and see the churches and schools established by African-American Georgetowners during the nineteenth century.

What you need to know:
1. Meet at Dumbarton House's Garden Gates at the corner of Q and 27th Streets, NW at 12:00 sharp!
2. The two hour tour meets rain or shine.
3.Children 3 and younger are free, but must be in a stroller
4. No pets allowed
5. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing
6. Tour begins and ends at Dumbarton House
7. We recommend bringing a bottle of water

Note: This tour does not include access inside the private homes.
