Mantras. Music and Ecstatic Kirtan

Brian (Tabla, Mridangam) and Rudra (Vocals, Pakawaj) are two multi-instrumentalists from the Bay Area, and their passion for “old-school” Kirtan is what fuels this workshop and call & response performance. Both trained in the Classical and Kirtan music traditions of India, they bring a powerful essence with Indian grooves, yet still permeate with soulful originality.

In this workshop we will:
-Discuss a brief history of Kirtan and Mantra
-Open our voices in the Indian style with musical accompaniment
-Bring down the house!
