As part of National Diabetes Awareness Month, The College Diabetes Network (CDN) is hosting the 4th annual College Diabetes Week November 13-18. We want people across the diabetes community to get involved and follow along during the week. College Diabetes Week was an idea brought to life by our amazing Student Advisory Committee (SAC) members in 2014.
As the week arrives, you can follow along with the week's activities by checking out #cdw17, following us on social media, watching for posts in this event, or by visiting our blog where we will be posting daily updates on chapter events.
There are multiple ways to get involved even if you aren't in a chapter or in college! We'll post opportunities here as well.
Some ways you can get involved:
1. Use our topics to blog or post on social media-
MONDAY: Post a selfie or a picture of day-to-day life living with diabetes in college!
TUESDAY: Share the impact that being involved with CDN has had on you!
WEDNESDAY: Share the hardest thing about living with diabetes in college. Don’t be afraid to talk about the things that are taboo, like mental health or burn out!
THURSDAY: Share your triumphs! How have you tackled the challenges you’ve faced relating to diabetes and college? What did college and diabetes teach you as a person?
FRIDAY: What advice would you give a high school student with diabetes preparing for college?
2. Fundraise for CDN! You're now able to create your own fundraising page for CDN here: https://www.classy.org/charity/college-diabetes-network-inc/c41681
3. If you'd like any more information about the week, or would like to know more ways to get involved, please contact Dan Browne, Program Assistant, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
