Join us on Sunday, April 8th, at 5:00 pm for a screening of Silence the Violence, a short documentary created by the Family Matters' Boys to Men Program, followed by a conversation and reception.
In cooperation with The Community Church of Wilmette, youth members of Family Matters’ Boys to Men Teen Program produced and filmed this short documentary centered on the realities of gun violence in Chicago.
In the film, the teens talk about their fear of police brutality and relate personal experiences of discrimination, as well as their experiences of productive conversations with local police at a roundtable held at Family Matters. Each young man shares his own ideas on how to bring peace and change to his neighborhood and school.
Childcare will be provided.
