WATERCOLOR FLOWER BOOK
WITH KATE THOMPSON
Saturday, June 9th
11:00 am to 6:00 pm (includes 1hr lunch break)
In this class we will construct a Coptic stitch watercolor book. This book we be a piece of art itself as well as record of techniques and experiments to use in future projects.
I will demonstrate how to create splashy, loose florals, traditional watercolor techniques with flowers and prints. We will also focus on color combinations and I will show you how to work with matte chalk paints combined with transparent watercolors to create some really magical results.
I will show you my scribble technique using watercolor, charcoal and pencil and smudge with linseed oil. This technique works really well as collage pieces.
We will take some of these samples and make a little collage piece to add to our book.
