Über uns Our association was formed to bring together as a cohesive group all practitioners of our profession. The Illinois Developmental Therapy Association strives to unite developmental therapists together to define and clarify our scope of practice, legitimize our practice, and provide a standard of excellence for our practice. The association aims to support our professional members as a group with shared resources, provide continuing education conferences/workshops, advocate for rights (state & local agencies,) and work with affiliates and universities toward accreditation and state licensure.

Mission The mission and purpose of the Illinois Developmental Therapy Association is to provide the highest quality services to children with disabilities and delays and their families through promoting and supporting the interests of Developmental Therapists by
• providing opportunities for the professional growth of individual members
• advancing the ethical and professional standards and cultivating best practice of DT
• improving communication, understanding and cooperation among DT's
• informing the public about the services and practices of DT
• promoting public recognition of DT as a certified/licensed profession
