|Mission||The Mission of the Merrimac Council on Aging is to provide services designed to improve the quality of life of elders by assisting them to remain as physically mobile, mentally alert and socially active as possible. The Council on Aging advocates for older adults, manages the resources needed to develop services, programs, activities and provide education for seniors and their families regarding choices in their care and community services available to them.|
Merrimac Council On Aging Goals
1.To provide a welcoming environment for seniors and their families in our community and beyond.
2.To provide activities and programs that are fun, stimulating and exciting that meet the Personal Wellness model: Intellectual, Social, Emotional, Vocational, Spiritual, and Physical.
3.To provide information, education, and resources or referrals to assist seniors and their families.
4.To provide services such as transportation, meals, food pantry, outreach, health clinics, and counseling.
5.To provide the place and opportunity for seniors to meet with legislators, town officials, department heads, Police and Fire Chiefs, Directors or representatives to the Housing Authority, Essex County Sheriff’s Department, and Atty. General’s office, etc.
