Refugio Mira Piedras is a small (10 lot) residential development with a heavy emphasis on Nature, Permaculture, and Sustainability. A major portion of the 75 acres has been set aside as a nature reserve.
Nature, ecology, organic food, peaceful, quiet and reflective living - that is what we are all about here. My wife and I bought this abandoned farm in 2000, and in 2008 we returned to make this our home. We have installed a robust infrastructure, including a water system (spring fed-no chlorine), internal roads, orchards, banana and plantain groves, and many trails throughout the reserve. We currently have five lots remaining at prices from $35,000 to $80,000, all with electricity and wonderful views. About 550 meters (1,800 ft.) the climate is cool and breezy; temps rarely exceed 80, and often are as low as the mid-60's at night.
