Description 609 Squadron is a part of the Australian Air Force Cadets in South Australia (6 Wing) . Our Squadron consists of between 70 and 90 cadets. The AAFC home training curriculum is also recognized by the SACE Board of South Australia as a community developed education system, and as such cadets are able to claim points for subjects which they have completed in the AAFC.

Cadets from 609 Squadron have achieved some beneficial and outstanding qualifications, such as pilots licenses, and Adventure Training Awards whilst learning a range of leadership skills. We also provide support to a range of other community based organisations such as the RSL, Legacy Foundation, Lions Club and Soldier On.
