We Fight For America's Heroes
About the 9/11 Police Aid Foundation:
We are 9/11 first responders and we are suffering serious health problems as a result of our service to this nation in its darkest hour. All who served deserve to not be forgotten. The 9/11 Police Aid Foundation provides education to 9/11 First Responders and their families; educates the public through media campaigns; lecturing organizations, schools and colleges; financial relief in extreme situations, assist in applications for disability; counsel in psychological, medical, and financial issues. Most importantly we make sure those that have died from 9/11 Illness are memorialized and remembered as much as the First Responders that died in the attacks on 9/11/01. In Short, Our mission is to Fight for America’s Heroes.
The world knows of the bravery and dedication the men and women of Law Enforcement and other First Responders that came from all 50 states to aid in the rescue and recovery at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. At a time when our country and New York City needed them most, these professionals, without regard for their own welfare, gave their all to keep us safe, maintain order, search for survivors, and keep everything functioning in the face of an almost unimaginable horror. Now many of them are bravely facing yet another crisis. Thousands of first responders who were exposed to the toxic environment resulting from the collapse of the towers are now experiencing a wide range of illnesses, from asthma to sarcoidosis, (a permanent lung condition) to gastrointestinal orders, post-traumatic stress disorders, (PTSD) and many forms of cancers. Sadly enough, many have already died from exposure to the toxic environment leaving behind families and loved ones.
