A4ID works with lawyers to fight global poverty, sourcing free legal services for organisations working in international development
Our vision is to draw together the skills and expertise of the legal profession to combat poverty and inequality of opportunity worldwide.
We provide a service to civil society and developing country governments working to further the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This facilitates the provision of free legal advice and assistance through a global network of 27,000 lawyers. We also aim to raise awareness of how the law and lawyers can support the MDGs through education, events and publications.
Lawyers have a key role to play in furthering the SDGs and in supporting sustainable international development. The law is fundamental to many aspects of society, from creating and ensuring rights to providing economic and social stability more generally. As highly skilled professionals, lawyers can do much to support the eradication of global poverty and to develop a more positive society for all.
Our vision is the law and lawyers playing their full part in the eradication of global poverty.
