Albuquerque Wildlife Federation (AWF) is an all-volunteer organization founded by renowned wildlife biologist and author Aldo Leopold in 1914 and dedicated to the protection and enhancement of wildlife and habitat resources
in New Mexico. AWF is a participatory citizens’ organization that works to: provide opportunities for the public to participate in wildlife-related activities; increase public understanding and appreciation of New Mexico’s wildlife and
wild lands; influence the wise management of New Mexico’s wildlife resources and habitat for present and future generations; support state, federal, and local resource managers and cooperate with other citizen organizations to
improve wildlife and habitat resource management; and provide a public forum for the discussion of natural resource and conservation issues of concern to New Mexicans.
