AWR do Raptor Rescue and live bird wildlife education. We’ve done over 2000 rescues, & over 2500 educational events in the Raleigh NC area.

Mission To provide a sanctuary for Birds of Prey and educate the public about the nature of these animals.
Description

AWR is a fully licensed raptor rescue and rehab center that is also does educational presentations. At last check (2010) there were only 17 others with the same licenses we have. We are the only dedicated Bird Of Prey hospital within 200 miles, and the only organization in our area with an educational eagle.

Awards Certificates from several organizations for our work. including NC Wildlife, and NC Department of Energy and Natural Resources. we also received educational partnerships with YMCA, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Y-Guides, Wake County Libraries.
Founded Began in 1971, became nonprofit February 2001
Products We have a small gift and consignment shop to help feed and support the birds. We do charge for our educational presentations to pay the costs of the animals. We are one of the few educators of our kind in the area.
