|About||We are a national non-profit community legal centre specialising in animal law. We advocate for law reform and provide free help to anyone seeking to protect animals. We are fully accredited by Australia's National Association of Community Legal Centres.|
Our mission is to use the law to protect animals. We do this by:
1. offering free advice and representation to people who want to protect animals;
2. advocating for law reform for animals; and
3. delivering community education designed to increase awareness and interest in animal protection matters.
|Description||The Animal Defenders Office was set up in December 2013 by volunteers as a national non-profit community legal centre specialising in animal law. Our goals are to advocate for law reform and to provide free advice and assistance to individuals and groups seeking to protect animals. In 2017 we received full accreditation from Australia's National Association of Community Legal Centres (NACLC), becoming the first accredited animal law community legal centre in NSW and the ACT, if not mainland Australia. We are still completely run by volunteer lawyers, law students, and other passionate members of the community. We receive no government funding for our work.|
