Anti-Racism Collaborative (ARC) of Greater Boston is a multi-racial collective of anti-oppression educators and activists committed to supporting the movement for racial justice and equity.
ARC provides skillfully structured working spaces for engaging in participatory learning that explores the individual and collective processes of dismantling racism.
ARC blends the pedagogical approaches to racial justice learning and practice found in affinity, intersectional, and multi-cultural models to create pathways return to community that treasures authentic engagement across difference and prescriptive learning for the self.
Honoring the diverse lived experiences relating to systemic racism present in any mixed group, ARC employs an adaptive affinity group model for working skillfully amidst difference. By working together to facilitate group learning in a racially mixed class, ARC facilitators deeply respect the role of identity-based affinity groups when this may prove more productive. Our facilitators aim to maximize both personal safety and collective learning by balancing mixed and affinity group work in alternation and combination.
