Ape Action Africa cover
Mission Ape Action Africa works on the frontline of primate protection. Our goals are to address the immediate threats faced by gorillas, chimpanzees and monkeys in Cameroon, and to work with local communities to develop long-term solutions that protect them well into the future – ensuring their survival.

We operate a thriving education programme for local school children, who are encouraged to come and visit us to see Cameroon's wildlife in its natural environment – and to gain a better understanding of the importance of great ape protection.

We are committed to identifying and establishing areas that can be set aside as safe and protected habitat for rescued gorillas and chimpanzees. It is our hope that one day the great apes in our care will be released into the wild where they belong.
Description Mefou Sanctuary is open for visitors from 9.00am to 4.30pm, every day of the year. The last tour starts at 3.30pm.

You can download directions to the park and contact details, along with a map of the park to take with you below.

Financial support is one of the greatest gifts you can give to help conserve the endangered gorillas and chimpanzees of West Africa. Small or large, all donations are vital to sustain our frontline work. You can make a donation online at: http://www.apeactionafrica.org/donate/donate

We have over 350 primates in our care and they all need food, shelter and medical care. Chimps and gorillas can live for 50 years and you can help us take care of them by adopting one of our orphans and becoming involved in their lives and watching them grow. You can adopt one of our apes online at: http://www.apeactionafrica.org/donate/adopt

We offer a limited number of self-funded volunteer placements for 1-3 months to people aged over 21 with a passion for primate conservation in Africa. Find out more about this once in a lifetime experience at: http://www.apeactionafrica.org/get-involved/volunteer
