Description

"Steaua Calauza” NGO for Children with Disabilities began its activity in 2005, founded by Viorica Capsa, inspired by her son Nicusor, an impaired child, who passed away in 2013. Due to the lack of available resources and services in the community, Viorica had to seek for rehabilitation services somewhere else. This experience gave her the idea to create a nongovernmental organization in her town to provide support and advocate for disabled children and their families. In 2012 two people with big heart Sergio Porres and Natalia Modval, became the NGO partners and together managed to find donors to renovate our building and open NICUSOR Center for children and youth in Gratiesti town. This was Nicusor’s dream and Viorica’s dream and we managed to make the dream come true. NICUSOR Center was opened in May 2016 and will create favorable conditions for rehabilitation for children with disabilities and their families and provide access to the therapy they need, to an effective recovery program and to appropriate treatment methods and counseling.
