1. Operation School Bell®
Assistance League of the Eastside supports the belief that new school clothing, and the resulting increase in self-esteem and school attendance, contributes to a strong foundation for a child's successful educational experience. Each year, through the Operation School Bell program, volunteers organize local shopping events for over 2650 children in need, selected by school personnel, from the Lake Washington, Bellevue and Northshore school districts.
2. Assault Survivor Kits®
Assistance League of the Eastside helps to restore dignity to survivors of sexual assault by providing essential personal care items and new clothing to replace items retained as evidence by law enforcement officers, through the Assault Survivor Kits program. Volunteers prepare and deliver the kits to hospitals throughout Washington where they are distributed by emergency room staff.
3. Starting Over Support
Assistance League® of the Eastside provides baskets of basic household items for individuals and families fleeing domestic violence, enabling them to begin new lives in safe, violence-free housing. Through the Starting Over Support program, volunteers prepare and send the baskets to domestic violence emergency shelters in King County.
4. Assistance League Outreach
Assistance League® of the Eastside collaborates with other local agencies to help in the short term to fill specific unmet needs in our local community in a timely, responsive and flexible way through the Assistance League Outreach program.
