Mission The Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) is committed to protecting the lives and property of Ashburn and Loudoun County residents and visitors by providing the best possible fire, rescue, emergency and medical response services. We pledge to perform our duty with courage and dedication. We also strive to be active in our community and proactive with public education and prevention campaigns.
Description Through the years, Ashburn’s Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department has always welcomed new challenges and innovations, adapting and changing with the times and continually upgrading and expanding its equipment and services with only one goal in mind — to better serve the community and keep it safe.

Today, however, AVFRD is facing one of its greatest challenges. In order to keep pace with the growth of Ashburn in recent years and still be able to provide efficient safety and rescue service to this community, we must now update and expand the existing firehouse facility, the original masonry block structure located on Ashburn Road.

It has been a familiar and comforting part of our community since 1947, and although our stringent training, technology and equipment meet 21st century standards, the structure itself no longer meets all of the needs of a modern fire and rescue department.

Now, with the help from individuals and businesses throughout our community, we can move our dedicated volunteers into a Fire & Rescue Station that will not only provide room for the emergency vehicles and apparatus, but proper overnight bunk rooms and plenty of space for ongoing training that our First Responders partake in weekly.
