To develop and promote documentary film culture in the Baltic Region;
to create and disseminate documentary contents with a focus to the
Baltic Sea Region; to provide platform for international networking for
documentary film professionals;
to exchange professional experiences and knowledge;
to raise general awareness on the importance of documentary film and
give the general public a rare chance to see quality documentary films.
BALTIC SEA FORUM FOR DOCUMENTARIES 2017 6 - 10 September
Pitching session of the selected projects are followed by on-to-one meetings with
commissioning editors (9-10 Sept.). Preparatory workshop is organised on 6-9 Sept.
Screenings of documentaries for general public are organised from 2-8 Sept in Riga and 5 cities across the country
|Founded||1997 in Bornholm, Denmark. Since 2006 takes place in Riga, Latvia|
|Products||Projects: Traditional documentaries, cross-media projects and documentary animations not previously rejected for selection more than twice nor pitched at previous editions. Co-production potential is the main selection criterion. Projects with some financial commitment from broadcasters or film institutions receive priority.|
