1958: The Evergreen Senior Citizens’ club formed by some civic minded locals who saw a need.
1965 (1 May): Building officially opened. Prior to this date, the Club met at the Balwyn RSL.
1966: BWA was officially incorporated and managed by an Honorary Board, which is still the case today.
1968: The Evergreen Ladies Auxilary raised funds to purchase our first bus to transport members. We now have three buses.
1975: We opened our eight independent living units.
1982: The Adult Day Centre began.
1986: Exercise classes began.
1993: Social Support outings began.
1998: Tai Chi classes began.
1999: Companion Animal Volunteer Support (CAVS) program commenced.
2005: Bi-monthly club outings
2006: Gentle chair-based exercise classes began.
2007: Men's exercise class began
2008: OM:NI, Fabric & Fashion group, Balwyn Historical Society, Talk & Tea group, Strength class, Tai Chi for Balance and counselling service commenced.
2009: Balwyn Blokes
2010: Counselling with Camcare, Broadband for Seniors, Computer forum group
2011: Community Kitchen, Community Singing
2012: Zumba gold and yoga gold classes commence
