After the 4-year success of its exhibition space in Bataan, Bellas Artes Projects is opening an outpost in Manila housed in a 293 square foot, former warehouse in the Art Hub of the city. The Outpost is a non-collecting exhibition space dedicated to increasing the discourse between Filipino artists and audiences with the international contemporary art community, and it produces 4 exhibitions a year and a public program that draws inspiration from the context and activities of the Bellas Artes Projects campus in Bataan. All exhibitions and public programmes are free and open to the public.
By engaging the wider community (meaning the non-art going community) in the Philippines with the resident and exhibiting artists’ production process, we hope to develop new audiences for contemporary art by making it accessible. There will be a particular emphasis on children’s workshops and programming.
