About The Big Scrub Gravel Buzz ventures into the world’s largest contiguous sand pine scrub.

Description The Big Scrub Gravel Buzz returns for 2018 and will be held on Saturday, February 24. The ride will venture into the world’s largest contiguous sand pine scrub. Riders will experience paved, chipseal, lime rock, grass, red dirt roads, and a bit of gravel here and there as they pass by the Ocklawaha River, wet prairies, swamps, and dense hammocks of palms, long-leaf pine and live oaks.

The 58 mile, “Hawg Leg”, and the 95 mile, “Whole Hawg” follow the same route for the first 30 miles and the final 24 miles.

Ride Departure:
Riders assemble at 9:00am – Ride departs at 9:15am.

Benefiting Charity:
Proceeds from this event will benefit the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Ocala.

Pre-registration entry price for each rider is $20, which includes a serving of craft beer from Infinite Ale Works!
Day of registration $30.
Event is held rain or shine.

Post Ride:
Participants, their friends and families are invited to hang out and socialize at Infinite Ale Works. Beer + bikes + food + friends and family = awesome!

This is a charity ride, and not a race. An “Ocala World Champion Jersey” will be awarded to the first finishers, Male and Female on the Whole Hawg route only.

Both routes feature pavement, lime rock, grass, dirt roads, bumps, sand, beautiful scenery, and wild animals. Most of these roads are low traffic.

Whether you like to ride fast or enjoy the scenery, come along and take in the sights of the Ocala National Forest and its surroundings; Gravel Style!
