|Mission||Breaking Chains Children Foundation is a public non-for-profit organization that is dedicated in empowering at-risk- youth through Housing and education, in the West African Region.|
We recognize that there are many good organizations working to assist the people of West Africa; we applaud and encourage their efforts. BCCF takes a unique approach that makes us different from many organizations.
BCCF’s founder, Finda Fallah, is a young woman who spent much of her childhood in West African refugee camps. As a survivor of the brutality, poverty, and atrocities of war, she was sponsored to come to the United States where she made education her priority. Knowing that education is a path to freedom, Finda has a vision to help others who still live in the conditions she survived. Finda’s vision is to reach out financially and emotionally to show others there is hope.
BCCF is structured to ensure the help it sends is received and achieves its goals. To do this, BCCF will:
• Work directly with the target population and infrastructure (school administrators, orphanage directors, resources, etc.)
• Send funds directly to the source of services such as sending enrollment tuitions directly to school registrars thereby eliminating the “middle person” who could misdirect funds and goods.
• Find volunteers who have passion for the target population and actively recruit volunteers with relevant expertise
• Start working on a small scale to validate the approach with the goal of expanding the program over time. Our inaugural 2011 goal is to send 4 children to school and keep them enrolled for the duration of their schooling.
