The Carly and Company boutique was created as a celebration of life.
Melinda’s passion throughout her life has been to work hard, bring people together, and create unique experiences for all to enjoy. Through working with her husband, starting several businesses as well as a nonprofit organization, she has been thankful to see her passion become reality. However, even with all of the above, her greatest purpose and passion in life has been her children.
After struggling with infertility for 8 years, Melinda is has been blessed with her three children. Though she was happy to have two boys, she was delighted to round out her family with a little girl, Carly. Carly has brought much girliness and laughter to her life.
The idea of the Carly and Company Boutique was birthed back in 2014, but it took several years for that idea to come to fruition. Melinda felt it was important to teach Carly how necessary it is to work hard, but to create fun at the same time. She was engulfed in the busyness of the working mom world, trying to balance it all, a dilemma many moms face. In the fall of 2015, Melinda was leading a missions trip to Mexico, organizing a buying trip to get Carly and Company off the ground, and was also planning a masquerade fundraising ball for the nonprofit she founded. Just two weeks later, she suffered a massive stroke.
The stroke immediately put everything on hold. No one was sure what would happen. Tenacious and driven, Melinda slowly recovered from her stroke and worked through her one forth vision loss. Though outwardly, it was hard for people to fully comprehend the damage left behind by the stroke, she knew her life was destined to be different. Committed to opening Carly and Company, Melinda returned to work about 6 months ago. She desired to show her daughter, that nothing can keep you down if you are determined. She wanted everyone to know that even after a stroke, you can accomplish your dreams with dedication, prayer and hard work. So
