Catherine Rose Chamberlain is a dressage professional in Temecula, CA who has been riding and competing for over fourteen years. Catherine, or “Cat” for short, is currently based out of De Luz Meadows, where she works with Niki Clarke and is grateful to be a part of the “Dressage Unlimited” team. She is a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medalist and has competed in many CDIs as well as overseas. She enjoys working with horses of all ages, breeds and levels and makes it a priority to create an individualized program for each horse and rider based on what works best for them. She has full-time training horses at De Luz Meadows, and also travels locally to clients for riding and lessons as well. Cat trained her first dressage horse to Grand Prix by age nineteen and is now working towards the Grand Prix ranks with her current partner, a 9 year old Westphalian mare named Sophina.
Cat enjoyed a very successful Junior/Young Rider career and had the opportunity to compete at the FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships five times. Her accomplishments there included winning the Junior individual and freestyle silver medals in 2010, Young Rider team gold in 2011, Young Rider team, individual and freestyle gold in 2014 and Young Rider team gold and individual silver in 2015. She has competed at the USEF Festival of Champions twice as well, winning the Junior Reserve National Championship in 2010 and the Young Rider National Championship in 2015. Cat also finished 6th in the 2015 Young Rider Grand Prix Brentina Cup Championships. In 2015 she was selected to participate in the USEF Young Rider European Tour, where she represented the United States at the CDIO in Hagen, Germany and placed 6th in the team test. She was awarded the 2015 Anita Owen Perpetual Junior/Young Rider Trophy for Outstanding Sportsmanship and the 2014 Fiona Baan “Pursuit of Excellence” Memorial Trophy.
