|Mission||The City College of San Francisco's Health Information Technology Program provides instruction and professional practice experience that prepare students to successfully sit for certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and for entry-level employment opportunities at various healthcare facilities, government agencies, and other healthcare organizations.|

This College for the people provides direct access to professional experiences and careers within local San Francisco Hospitals, Community Clinics, Student Health Centers, and a various public and private health informatics related sites. As one of the last two face-to-face institutions in California that provide an accredited education in Health Information Management we fulfill our mission to prepare students to sit for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Exam; a necessary step for solid careers in HIT.
Our student centered approach within a very technical field supports our undergraduates while providing a successful and invaluable opportunity to gain experiences not otherwise provided in online formats or other technical programs.
