|About||Musical instrument repair done by Chad Peters. Guitars, basses, mandolins, banjos, etc. Fair prices and quick turnaround.|
I have been a lover of music since I was a young kid. I can remember being little and my grandfather sending me cassettes of old country music songs. As I grew up so did my musical tastes and it expanded to all kinds of music, I currently have around 61,000 songs in my iTunes library. My dad and I started playing music together when I was a teenager as a way to spend some time with each other, I took really well to playing guitar and bass. Because my father is an electrical engineer, we would buy cheap, junky guitars at pawnshops and fix them ourselves; that’s how I learned that I have a passion for playing music, fixing musical gear, and for making others’ music sound better too.
I’ve been fixing gear problems professionally on and off for five years, but I have always worked on musical gear if I was in a shop or not since I was a teenager. I gained the majority of my experience by being the go-to guy for fixing my band mates’ and other local musicians’ gear problems throughout the years.
I played bass for local Louisville legends Rocktimus Prime for eight years, with the original band Corn Whiskey for a good decade, and I used to help host an open mic night for local musicians where they got the chance to play with a band for 3 years. I have played many fill in gigs on guitar and bass with local bands around the Louisville area. I also play a little bit of mandolin and I just recently picked up a banjo to start learning the basics on it.
To those who don’t understand why I enjoy doing repair work, it’s all about the finished product – people leave happy and that’s what matters. I take pride in my work. Being a gigging musician I know I want my gear to play the best that it can, so I want your guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, or whatever instrument you play to be the best that it can be for you.
But enough about me, lets talk about you, your gear, and what I can do for it...
