|About||A mountain-inspired indoor cycling studio and running club in Amsterdam, Oost.|
We love wild and beautiful places but know that city living can sometimes make it challenging to get there. And so we make it our mission to keep 'mountain fit' despite the weather, terrain or limited time that comes with city living.
Focusing on a combination of cardio and strength intervals, we build our CityAlpers to be leaner, stronger, faster, more mobile and naturally athletic.
We want our CityAlpers not to only keep fit but to do something wild and adventurous with their hard earned strength and fitness and in doing so, open the door to exploring outside of the city.
No free hand towels or mirrors ... and the sweatier the better.
RIDE & LIFT
In our 60min RIDE & LIFT cardio-strength interval based classes, you will constantly be switching between the bike (cardio) and the floor (strength) combining various free and body weight movements. Expect to burn a massive amount of calories while building lean muscle mass and full-body functional strength.
In our 60min RIDE cycling-focused classes, we use world-class power-monitored bikes (Spinner Chrono Power Bike). Your instructor will lead sprint intervals, hill repeats, tempo or steady state sessions. This class is all about using data to track and improve your performance. Expect mind-blowing endurance and power gains.
LIFT classes are all about functional strength for endurance athletes. These classes are geared towards making you more durable and injury proof. Each session finishes with 10 minutes of flexibility and mobility work – a key component for any endurance sport.
7pm, every Tuesday and Thursday
Twice a week, we meet outside the City Alps studio for a group run. And wait for it…. it's free! Your only commitment is to buy and wear the City Alps t-shirt, with the proceeds of this going towards a running-based charity project in South Africa.
Tempo Tuesdays ...
alternates between interval and tempo sessions (about 10km total). A base running fitness is required before you join these sessions.
involves 5km (5 loops in Oosterpark) timed and recorded so that you can track your improvement and enjoy some healthy competition. We run from the studio to the park as the warm-up, and then do 10 minutes of dynamic stretching before starting the time trial. All levels are welcome.
