About Cognitive Behavior Institute
To unlock human potential through research-informed, client-directed, and compassionate counseling, psychological testing, research, and education.
Description
Cognitive Behavior Institute (CBI) first began as a solo practice in Cranberry Township in November 2014. Dr. Kevin Caridad, owner and CEO, was inspired by the growing prominence of evidence-based practice in mental health care. He hoped to provide clients with a more complete approach that created a space to engage in V.I.P. treatment every step of the way. This venture created one of many dreams that positioned CBI to become the “Ritz Carlton of mental health,” accessible to ALL.

In February 2015, CBI grew to include additional staff with a new vision extending beyond the latest treatment advances. Office administration and support became front and center, realized through client advocacy. Erin Molyneaux, COO, established administrative excellence as a hallmark of the practice through direct, sustained contact with each client. As the clinical staff expanded to meet growing therapeutic demand, so too did CBI’s presence. CBI founded a new location south of Pittsburgh in Mt. Lebanon. Increased therapeutic demand meant hiring clinical staff that could meet the standards of best practice and client advocacy. These standards would lead to another hallmark of CBI: Clinicians defined by their credentials as well as Dr. Caridad’s trust in them treating an immediate family member of his. CBI continued building on its commitment to best practice and client advocacy by integrating mental and medical health. The practice partnered with primary care physicians and other industry innovators to improve diagnostic accuracy, collaboration of care, and virtual treatment spaces for psychiatric services.
