|About||Therapeutic Cooking Workshops to Improve Mental Health: For Individuals, Businesses, Small Groups & Specilaized Communities|
Depression is a leading cause of lost productivity in the United States with an annual cost of $44 billion to employers—that is a massive cost that employers cannot ignore. But, many employers may find the topics of mental health and self-care difficult to tackle in the workplace.
By proactively choosing to address mental health and positive working conditions, the cost and effort to improving the work environment is far less. Each workplace has unique needs and interests that determine the best approach, but by recognizing the importance of supporting the needs of staff, the workplace is already headed in a more positive and supportive direction.
Cognitive Kitchen combines the process of cooking a meal with traditional behavioral therapies and mindfulness practices to create a program that is fun and therapeutic. Program participants build many types of coping skills and improve communication with their co-workers which can translate back to the workplace and beyond.
