Description All About Mining is an on-line course for K-12 educators and is sponsored by the Colorado School of Mines and the Colorado Mining Association Education Foundation. This course consists of 47 lectures on all facets of the modern American mining industry, which can be taken by the participants at their own pace. The digital lectures are free to review by all. Upon completion of the on-line portion of the course, a $300 fee will be required to take the three-day refresher course held on the CSM campus and a five-day field trip to operating mines, mills, plants and reclamation sites throughout Colorado. Successful completion will result in six hours of recertification from the Colorado School of Mines. The refresher course and field trip portion will be conduced the mid-summer of each year.

Lectures and field trips combine to give participants experience with geology, surface and underground mining, processing, steel making, reclamation, recycling and fabrication.

This is an exciting, fun and beneficial learning experience given by experts in their respective fields that enables and enhances a teacher’s abilities to discuss the minerals industry with their students.
