Mission The mission of the Colorado Ocean Coalition is to create, unite and empower a Colorado coalition with shared values, goals and actions to promote healthy oceans through education and community engagement.
Description

Until now, there has never been a unified voice for ocean protection in the Mountain States. The mission of the Colorado Ocean Coalition is to create, unite and empower a Colorado coalition with shared values, goals and actions to promote healthy oceans through education and community engagement. We are doing this by engaging scientists, activists, businesses and ocean supporters to address current threats which include:
Watershed Protection and Health
Marine Protected Areas
Climate Change and Ocean Acidification
Sustainable seafood
Special species focus (whales, sharks, tuna, turtles, etc.)
Plastics pollution
US National Ocean Policy
Join us to figure out how we can help the ocean from a mile high! You don't have to see the ocean to protect it.

Awards In recognition of COCO's inaugural Making Waves in Colorado, The Mayor of Boulder, proclaimed November 13, 2011 to be Boulder's first Ocean Awareness Day.
Founded November 2010
Products Changing the way we take care of our oceans happens one person at a time. We sponsor a monthly Blue Drinks where we meet people and share our interest and projects.
