|About||There has not been a resident wild wolf in Colorado since the 1940’s. Through guided educational tours of our center and our off-site educational programs, over 40,000 people a year learn more about the importance of the beautiful and majestic wolf and other misunderstood wild canids in our ecosystem. Through education and positive motivation, we can ALL make a difference.|
CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, PRESERVATION
"Whether it is because we desire to have a piece of the wild next to us, own them for a status symbol, or think we can domesticate a wild spirit, we believe it is wrong."
Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center is an Association of Zoos and Aquariums certified facility.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Are reservations required to visit your facility?
Yes. We require reservations for all of our tours, no matter what time of year you are planning to visit. Due to the way our facility is regulated and the nature of our tours, we are only able to accommodate 35-40 people on our tours. You can make reservations on our website: http://www.wolfeducation.org/#!tours/cnt9
Can people play with the wolves?
Guests 18 years old that are healthy and able bodied have the option of adding on an Alpha Tour to their reservation, which would allow them to enter an enclosure with two staff members and have about 15 photos taken. Mature children 8 years old and over can interact with our red foxes. Guests are not allowed to rough house or play with the animals, only give soft pets and maybe get a wolf kiss. You can find all the information about the Alpha Tour and entering an enclosure on our website: http://www.wolfeducation.org/#!tour-pricing/c1i9u
What is the cost?
Our standard tours cost $15 per adult and $8 per child 12 and under.
Do you sell wolf pups or hybrids?
No. We believe that wolves belong in the wild and not in the backyard. All of our animals are spayed and neutered in order to prevent unwanted litters. We do offer a sponsorship program for our animals in which you can "adopt" one for a donation of $50, and that money will go to the care of the animals at CWWC.
