|About||I offer positive dog training services and dog behaviour consultations, from my rural location in the centre of Gloucestershire|
I have always had an interest in working with animals. In September 2000 I attended Sparsholt Agricultural College and completed a City & Guilids National Certificate in Animal Care. I then started work at the RSPCA, first in the control room and then as an Animal Collections Officer.
A change in personal circumstances led me to Gloucestershire. This marked the start of a new adventure within my career, this time working as a kennel person for the MOD, responsible for the welfare of 7 Military working dogs. Being around the same group of dogs, day in/day out for 4 years, taught me a lot, but I wanted to learn more.
It is then that I became a dog handler. Around the same time, I took it upon myself to carry out a Foundation Degree in Canine Behaviour & Training. It is on this course that I learnt the science behind dog training, and why positive training works. I completed this in 2012.
Since then, I have had my little boy, so have put my career on hold, but now am ready to start driving forwards.
I am currently working towards accreditation with the Kennel Club. This has led me to attend canine training & behaviour seminars, with many more booked for this year. I really look forward to learning more and progressing.
I never tire of dog training, it is fantastic when you can turn a dogs behaviour around, or when you teach an owner how positive training works, then to see their dog progress because of it! It is so rewarding!
