|About||Three beautiful cottages hidden in the heart of Appledore, North Devon. Great location for blue flag beaches, country walks, bike rides, kayaking. Pubs, restaurants and shops all within walking distance. Dogs welcome. Enclosed communal garden with BBQ.|
I live here in Appledore with my husband, two sons and dog. Noel & I grew up in north east London (although people down here always think I'm from Essex) but moved to Hertfordshire, where we had our two sons. I previously worked in retail banking in London, Essex and Milton Keynes whilst Noel had his own building maintenance company. We moved to Appledore in 2010. Noel is now a member of the Appledore RNLI crew and we both manage the cottages.
I love walking, rugby and meeting friends - all of which are easy to do here in Appledore.
We found out about Appledore by a chance conversation with someone nearby, so we thought we would see what it was all about. We found that lots of what happens in Appledore happens behind the Quay. In 2006, we found a holiday home in Market Street and made lots of friends - old and young, true locals, nearly locals and grockles! We decided we loved it so much we wanted to live here. In July 2010 we bought this small holiday complex - there are three holiday cottages (Apple Tree, Pear Tree & Mulberry Tree).
Appledore has a great community spirit within it and it's great to be able to smile at people and people smile back or say hello or stop for a quick chat (although this usually ends up not so quick). There is a good pub/music vibe in the village and usually something or other is going on.
The cottages are perfectly placed for the village shops, post office, library, coffee shops, tea rooms, pubs and eateries. Yet because they are hidden away behind the facade of the street front there is peace and quiet if you want it.
It is our aim to make sure you have wonderful cottages to stay in with everything you need for a fantastic holiday.
