Craig Farm Historic Preservation Foundation cover
Mission The mission of the Craig Farm Historic Preservation Foundation is (1) preserving and maintaining historic Craig House (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and Craig Farm in Lancaster County, South Carolina; (2) promoting historic preservation and land conservation in the area; (3) advancing understanding and appreciation of the County’s and American history; and (4) promoting the classical arts and humanities and traditional values that enrich American life.

The Foundation’s principal purpose is to maintain and operate Craig House and the surrounding Craig Farm as a historic house museum and property to conserve the beauty of the Craig Farm landscape and protect it from development.

To the extent that resources permit, the Foundation also has the following aims: preserving Kilburnie as part of the Craig Farm historic house museum complex; protecting Craig Farm Road from undesirable development; sponsoring cultural and classical performing arts activities that enrich the life of the Lancaster community and raise cultural and behavioral standards; and encouraging historic preservation in downtown Lancaster. In addition to its direct charitable historic house museum, preservation, and land conservation activities, the Foundation may make grants to organizations that advance its mission.
