In partnership with The EU, EUNIC and Goethe Jordan, Darat Al Tasweer annouce the call for participation in the Image Festival Amman #7 photography workshop:
"In Relation To" photographic explorations around home
with Heinrich Völkel
3-8 April 2018
Clan, people, group, tribe, folk, house, dynasty, ancestry, relatives, species – all these words are synonyms for something we all have and share - „family“. We are born into them without choice, while others we can choose. In this workshop the participants will explore the various forms of family around them, while considering, detecting and discovering new and old relations. An individual approach is wanted and key to create vivid and impressive work.
The workshop will provide the students with the necessary tools to turn an idea into a project, with practical advice and guidance to creatively engage the set theme. In a mixture of lecture and debate we will work continuously over the course of a week. Aim and goal of the workshop is to create a coherent photographic piece, which shows and delivers new insights into family relations today. Personal growth and development are desired effects of this intense and inspiring experience and class.
At the end of the workshop, the participants will present their work, in a group exhibition during the Festival.
