Child welfare researchers and practitioners agree children in foster care achieve better permanency and well-being outcomes when placed with loving and nurturing families. The evidence shows the most effective family to be placed in one's relatives.

We will explore best practices,national and state-level trends, informal verses formal kinship care, caregiver support, and how to discussion options with kinship caregivers.

We are thrilled that renown national expert, Heidi Redlich Epstein from the American Bar Association in Washington D.C., will deliver the keynote address. The conference will also feature Executive Director, Richard Heyl de Ortiz, and Foster and Kinship Care Specialist, Amy Drayer, from the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York, Kinship Navigator, the Child Trauma Academy, Kinship caregivers and others.
