Ticket price includes a 10 dollar material fee, class takes place over two consecutive days each with a half hour break for lunch.
In this introductory class, students will get a brief overview of metal fabrication and Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. Intended to prepare students to take on simple projects of their own, confidently and safely, this course will include proper usage of the horizontal band saw, angle grinders, sanders, and welder.
Over the course of two four hour sessions, students will layout, cut, and prepare material for MIG welding, as well as grinding and blending surface welds on a basic project.
Attendees must wear closed toed shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt. All clothes should be made of natural fibers like cotton, canvas, or leather, no synthetics. Students are also encouraged to bring their own leather welding gloves and helmet. Safety glasses and ear protection will be available for purchase from Anthony for those interested.
