Local homeless shelters can’t get them in fast enough. Sturdy, lightweight, washable and resistant to bedbugs, plarn mats help prevent hypothermia and give a layer of comfort to people on the streets.
Collect, fold, cut, link, and Crochet are the five steps to making plarn mats. We need folks willing to do one or more of these steps. Anyone can participate. Please bring clean used grocery bags and scissors. if you want to participate in the crocheting part you will need a size Q hook. Join Susan Thering and Jenafer Humpries to learn how you can help.
