CLASS DETAILS
Christine Torrez is the Owner and Chief Instructor of Quest Academy of Martial Arts Colorado. Alongside her husband, Tim Torrez, they have developed an effective and simple curriculum based on instinctual basic motor skills. They’ve been successfully running women's self-defense workshops for over 3 years in Northern Colorado, utilizing the absolute basics from their Kenpo, Modern Arnis, and Jujitsu arts (in which they have been training in since 2004).

Their first goal is to set up the correct psychological patterns teaching women to be highly aware of their surroundings, situations, and self at all times. By setting up proper self-awareness levels, women will quickly be able to identify their situations and understand how to confidently react to any given situation. They also cover the Colorado Statutes of Limitations regarding use of deadly physical force, clearing up misconceptions and myths about self-defense.

Secondly, their goal is to teach women how to use their surroundings, voices, body, or any various objects within their reach as tools to defend themselves and their families if deescalating a situation doesn't work.

Their program brings together logical and realistic approaches for women to learn how to be in control, no matter what level of experience they may come to them with. They feel by sharing insight on the psychological thought processes of stalkers, predators, and domestic abuse situations, they will create a full range reality-based program that will benefit everyone involved.
