The 48th Ward will celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 21, with our annual Clean and Green Day. This is a great opportunity to connect with neighbors and get involved in the community. In partnership with State Representative Kelly Cassidy, Senator Heather Steans and the Edgewater Environmental Sustainability Project, volunteers will sweep, rake, paint, and plant at various sites throughout the ward.

Projects begin at 9am and we will thank all of our volunteers with a picnic at the 48th Ward Streets and Sanitation Yard, 5853 N. Broadway, at noon.

Project sites include:

Alley cleanup along CTA embankment, various locations
Beach cleanup at Kathy Osterman Beach with Shedd Aquarium
Berger Park, 6205 N. Sheridan
