55 East will be screening a collection of short films from Chaplin himself, with talks & discussion around his life, works & the local area he grew up in.

Come on down to the 55 East Lounge to celebrate all that is local & Walworth - there will be bottomless popcorn, refreshments & even a Chaplin impersonator!

Charlie is a bum who becomes a policeman whose beat is the notorius Easy Street!

The Immigrant (1917)
Charlie is a penniless immigrant arriving in America and discovering love!

The Ghost of Marie Henderson (2017)
A silent movie homage to the Coronet that has just closed in the Elephant and Castle - Chaplin meets the ghost of a Victorian actress!

Chaplin Meets Caine (2017) 3 minutes
An extract from the play recently staged at the Coronet by the People’s Company. This scene is based on a newspaper account of Chaplin bumping into Michael Caine during the 1970s when they both revisited their places of birth.
