THE IMPORTANCE OF PREPARING THE BODY, MIND AND EMOTIONS, PRIOR TO ASANA PRACTICE.
Harry Rijs has been a yoga practitioner for 44 years, qualifying with the Bhava school of yoga and creative dance in Warrandyte Victoria. He has also studied other disciplines such as Karate, Tai Chi, Kinetics and music related to brain/body response.
Harry is a level 2 teacher member of Yoga Australia.
Harrys life journey is based on the interconnection between body, mind, emotions and conscious awareness and how these relate to this existence in which we find ourselves.
Harry has practised and attended many forms of yoga over the years and has incorporated this knowledge into the Bhava yoga he now teaches at his “Balanced Wellbeing” studio in Hobart. After running part time yoga sessions for multifarious groups in Country Victoria and Melbourne, he moved to Hobart 14 years ago to start a full time yoga and alignment practice.
The program will begin with Nidra, moving into specific warm up movements which take up one third of every class. Between each section there will be small modules based on music and specific movement sequences. This Bhava system has been developed over his 44 years of yoga studies, their relationship to the brain, the nervous system and connection to the body through breath.
