AKA National Beer Day is one of our favorite days on the calendar! This momentous occasion marks the day that the Cullen–Harrison Act was enacted after having been signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 22, 1933, finally allowing people to sell and drink beer once more!
It is said that people started lining up outside of breweries the night before in anticipation of the day, hence making April 6th known as New Beer's Eve.
We love this holiday so much in our home state that this year House Joint Resolution 90 was introduced in the Virginia General Assembly to officially recognize National Beer Day in the Commonwealth of Virginia!
In the words of Roosevelt upon signing the legislation -- "I think this would be a good time for a beer!"
We'll be celebrating with two new Tropical Series beer releases and some live music from Reckless Brigade on Saturday night from 7:30 - 10:00pm. Plus, some beer-themed facts and fun spread throughout the brewery.
